Stratford Police Report: Ransacked room, drink driving

On the evening of Monday, June 10, a 31-year-old Stratford male was processed for driving with excess breath alcohol and driving while disqualified. His car has been impounded and he is summoned to appear in Hawera District Court.

On Tuesday, June 11 a 22-year-old Stratford female was apprehended driving while suspended. Her vehicle has been impounded and she is summoned to appear in Hawera District Court.

A house on Regan St was entered on Thursday, June 13 and a room was ransacked and tipped upside down. Inquiries are continuing.

On Saturday, June 15, a 33-year-old Stratford male was processed with excess breath alcohol after blowing twice the legal limit. His licence has been suspended for 28 days. A 37-year-old Eltham male was apprehended driving while disqualified. His car has been impounded and he is summoned to appear in Hawera District Court.

Stratford Police attended an accident south of Eltham on June 16. There have been no reported injuries to the Waverly driver, who lost control and hit trees. The vehicle was moderately damaged.

On June 17, a 40-year-old Puniwhakau male was arrested and charged with assault relating to an incident previously reported from June 8. He has been bailed to Hawera District Court. On the same date in the late afternoon, a car reversed into a parked car outside the Northern Dairy. The offending driver checked the damage before fleeing the scene. Police would like to speak to her . The vehicle was described as a white SUV, similar to an Isuzu Bighorn. The first three letters of the registration are FGZ. The driver was described as a female of Maori descent aged 30-40.
