Avon School students were treated to some early Christmas cheer with a visit from Santa Claus on Monday morning.
Santa and his elf assistants brought with them gifts from the Taranaki Shoebox Christmas appeal for every pupil in the school.
Principal Denise Hendren says the students were delighted with their presents.
"I had one girl in tears she was so happy."
