Old McDonald's farm came to town last week when Avon Kindy held its first animal parade on Wednesday.
Head teacher Lynsi Latham-Saunders, says the students were encouraged to bring along their pets to introduce to everyone. "Those who didn't have a pet brought in a photo of their favourite animal to put on our collage wall."
Lynis says that the idea behind the animal parade came as many of the students live on farms and have been experiencing lambing and calving season and "this brought up a lot of interest about all kinds of animals".
Marnie Smith (4) brought her new best friend Aurora to the parade. "I got to show her to all of my friends."
Marnie says that while it was fun having Aurora at kindy, "she got a bit silly and kept jumping into our veggie garden". Marnie adds that while Aurora's diet usually consists of milk from a bottle, "she was trying to eat the plants out of the garden, it was really funny".
