The bonnet of his Honda Integra might be dented, but Scott Howatson from Stratford is keeping up his sense of humour.
"What can you do? You just have to laugh about it," he says following a street signpost spearing the bonnet after being pushed over Saturday night or early Sunday morning in what is thought to have been an act of vandalism.
"I am lucky it is an old car. There must have been a bit of force behind it to do this damage."
Scott says he is insured but the excess will probably be more than the cost of fixing up the 1990 model with a second-hand bonnet.
The signpost is one of three pushed down on Pembroke Rd noticed by the Stratford Press on Sunday. The others are on the corner with Cressida Ave and at the entrance to St Mary's school. Residents were unaware of anything untoward until noticing the damage in the morning.
