The Stratford Scottish Society held a Midwinter Dinner on August 23 at the Shakee Pear Caf. This dinner was attended by about 50 members and families.
Life Memberships were presented to Joyce Orr and Lindsay Drinkwater.
Joyce has been the secretary of the society for the last 21 years, only recently resigning from this role. Lindsay has been Chief for 20 years and still holds this position. Without their tireless work the society would not be where it is today.
Two trophies were also presented - the Russell Cup for the Most Improved Drummer went to Brendon Simons, while Hamish Laurence, the youngest member of the band, was acknowledged for his efforts as the flag bearer.
After dinner the pipers and drummers cranked out a few tunes which was enjoyed by all.
