"I had a really good teacher in Anna Best," says April Watson of Anna's Flowers, who was delighted to receive two Romeos at the Stratford Press Romeo Awards on Saturday night.
Anna's Flowers was runner-up in the Best Business-Retail category, as well as being named winner of the Best Presented Business category.
"It is a really nice acknowledgement of what we do here," April, who manages the store, says. The boutique, which specialises in fresh flowers, gourmet foods and quality gifts, has been getting busier over the past few years. "Sarah Dazley started working part-time for me last year in the lead up to Christmas, and it is great having her on board, she is enthusiastic and enjoys the work just as much as I do."
Given that much of April's work is focused on presentation, she feels it is particularly rewarding to have won the category of Best Presented Business, sponsored by McDonald Real Estate.
"Everyone's tastes are different, and we are aware of that. When we go on buying trips it can be difficult to know if we are selecting the right things, but it seems we are getting it right. We always try to think of our customers and be aware of their tastes."
