A man watched in horror as a ute clipped the front of his car and rolled six times into a paddock.
Sven Hanne was driving north on SH3 towards Maxwell when the ute began to over-take him at around 3.45pm Friday.
"He cut in too early and hit the front corner of my car. I slammed on the breaks and watched him roll six times right in front of me," Mr Hanne said.
Three ambulances, two police cars and two fire trucks arrived at the scene shortly after.
Mr Hanne is the chief executive of the Stratford District Council. In the car with Mr Hanne was the Stratford Deputy Mayor Alan Jamieson. They were returning in a council vehicle from a local government meeting.
