Much-loved seasonal tale A Christmas Carol is being given new life by Stratford on Stage at the TET Kings Theatre.
A beautifully designed set, with a hint of fog and sprinkling of snow, paired with authentic costume design transports the audience to another time and place - London 1800.
With just a few grumbling words, Alex Ballantyne, becomes the well-known misery that is Ebenezer Scrooge. Alex does a fantastic job in the role and brings a new depth to the character, making the audience feel sympathectic towards his plight.
Scrooge is visited by three spirits in the night - the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future (played by Trudie Ashford, Elicia-May Hitchcock and Dave Rohe). Each of the actors bring a little magic to the roles as they enchant the audience into believing that they really are from another world.
A highlight of the performance is the children's chorus which sings carols throughout the production. They do a great job of linking scenes together and are a joy to listen to.
