Four St Joseph's School Stratford students (pictured) gained six Distinctions in this year's Australasian Schools Competitions. These competitions have recently been renamed The International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS).
A Distinction puts the students within the top 10% of students in their year level within New Zealand. The following gained the awards:
Pictured: Alexandra Merson (Year 6) English 97%; Chelsey Burgess (Year 5) Mathematics 97%; Aaron Kuriger (Year 7) Science 91% and English 92%; Matthew Sullivan-Brown (Year 7) Science 98% and Mathematics 95%. Matthew also gained an Excellence in the Otago Maths Problem Solving Competition run by Otago University.
