Schools and community groups will now have more affordable access to lighting and sound equipment at the TET Kings Theatre, thanks to a generous donation by Stratford On Stage.
"We are thrilled to make a donation for the whole Stratford community to enjoy," says Stratford On Stage president Tracey Blake of the donation of lighting and sound equipment.
Tracey says Stratford On Stage purchased the lighting and sound equipment a number of years ago with a grant given to the group by the Taranaki Electricity Trust. While it has always been housed at the theatre the equipment has belonged to Stratford On Stage and was hired out to users of the theatre.
"By officially donating it to the theatre it gives community groups and school's easier and more affordable access to the equipment," says Tracey.
As part of the donation an agreement has been made that groups using the equipment will only be charged for performances, not rehearsals.
