Jack Jordan, a member of the New Zealand Wood Chopping team who previously attended Stratford High School and spoke to the students about the importance of setting goals.
Jack said he set a goal of gaining a world title within a 10 year period, and achieved it within two years.
David Foster, captain of the Australian Wood Chopping team, also spoke about taking the right steps to achieve goals. David, who is based in Tasmania, has won 186 world titles in wood chopping and sawing and more than 1900 championships.
Wendy Walker, assistant principal, says the pair were great speakers and passed on an encouraging message to the students. Both David and Jack will be competing at the Stratford A&P Show this weekend.
