Kids race cross-country at Central Primary School Championships

Students raced their hearts out during the Central Primary Schools Cross Country Championships at the Stratford Racecourse recently.

More than 240 students took part in the event hosted by the Stratford Athletics Club.
Midhurst School student Dylan Kowalewski came first in the U-11 Boys race and says it was a good race and he had been practicing hard.

The Under 11 Girls champions - First: Pascoe Wells, Toko School, Second: Heidi Sextus, Toko School, Third: Danae Hancock, St Joseph's School.

"It was good for the first couple of kilometres then I started to tire, but I managed to hold my pace the whole way.

"It was a good race."

Toko School student Pascoe Wells came first in the U-11 Girls race and says the 3km race was pretty full on.

"I did lots of training at home and school.

"It's fun but hard work."
