What a wonderful turnout we had on Saturday night with an epic finale to end the karaoke competition organised by Raybern Entertainment and the New Commercial Hotel.
As hosts, we would like to thank all the competitors and their supporters for making the night a huge success and allowing the public to witness such incredible talent.
To the wonderful panel of judges, Kate Whareaitu, Tira Wilson and Rawinia Henderson, thank you for your expertise and professionalism during the course of the evening. Your musical knowledge and talents encouraged our competitors to sing to their full potential and make this competition a success.
Special guest, New Zealand actor and sculptor Lawrence Makoare, put our little town in a tailspin and his presence was most welcomed. The Lord of the Rings star was impressed with the local talent.
All 10 competitors left winners on the night and no-one went home empty-handed, as all finalists received a monetary prize for their efforts.
