For the babies, it was their first time in a pool, while for many of their mothers, it was their first time back in their togs. Despite these nerve-wracking 'firsts' both mothers and babies had a great time at the TSB Stratford Pool, and gained some valuable water safety skills.
Stratford Parents Centre organised lessons for parents with toddlers and babies, led by a qualified instructor, and invited past and present Stratford Space (Supporting Parents Alongside Children's Education) programme participants to join them.
"Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity," says Lorna-Marie Hobo, a Space facilitator. "I'd like to thank Tracey Scheliin of Stratford Parents Centre for inviting Space, the babies loved it and it was great to offer this experience to our mums and bubs."
