South Taranaki District Council (STDC) property and facilities manager John Sargeant says the Eltham Town Hall has been completely re-roofed, has new barges and spouting and had a full repaint, except for the front which was recently done.
John says the exterior of the hall was last painted in 1999 along with a partial refit. The front of the building was painted in heritage colours in 1993 and again in 2010 by the community. A full re-roofing was last completed in the late 1970s. The old roofing iron that was removed has been donated to the Eltham Lions Club for scrap.
