A new doctor has arrived in Stratford, his expertise much needed to answer the demand for more local general practitioners.
Duncan Burns, 44, and his family, wife Katie, Sophie, 13, and 11-year-old twins Olivia and Gabriella, are no strangers to the area though. He worked at the Avon Medical Centre in 2011 on a six-month sabbatical from practising in England, and the kids attended Toko Primary.
He says already having friends here eased the huge step in emmigrating to a new country for the children, while they found the friendliness of the locals very welcoming.
He says what attracted him to the other end of the Earth was a career move, but also lifestyle.
"It is a very good lifestyle for the children, very outdoors. Having the mountain is great."
