There were horses of both the gingerbread and the real kind in Prospero Place last Thursday as the Central Taranaki Riding for the Disabled (RDA) group celebrated RDA Awareness Week.
The gingerbread horses were made by primary students from schools in the area as part of the national fundraising programme and were selling fast.
Sarah Collier, president of the Central Taranaki RDA group, says they also had plenty of interest in the children's educational storybook the group has for sale, Who Can Help Theo. The book is for children aged 3-10 and teaches young readers about rda and the work the organisation does.
The story tells the story of Theo, a retired race horse who loves people and wants a new job, so he goes on an adventure, visiting some of his friends and learning what jobs they do.
Sarah says the group is always keen to hear from people who would like to help or support them in some way.
