The dementia facility at Maryann Home and Hospital is now a year old, and nurse manager Peg Leathley is "delighted" with the way the facility has "grown into itself".
"It's exactly as we had envisaged and the focus of it has always been, person centred care. The residents needs come first and staff are committed to this philosophy"
Peg says that each resident and staff member brings their own life skills to the unit, and these skills are "recognised and valued".
To celebrate the birthday, the staff put on an afternoon tea for the residents and their families.
