A man charged with the murder of his mother has had his case adjourned today after a brief appearance in the New Plymouth High Court.
Justice Paul Heath ordered that the grounds for the adjournment be suppressed.
David Blake (47) will now reappear on April 20 for a case review hearing.
He is charged with the murder of his mother, Stratford woman Gwen Blake (71), on January 30. Police were called to a Regan Street address after a member of the public reported hearing shouting at the house. An autopsy found that she died as a result of injuries related to a serious assault. No further details about the type of assault have been released.
