"Stop, Shop, Stratford" is the message being promoted by the Stratford Business Association, with the first of three large banners being hung over Broadway yesterday morning.
Chairman of the SBA, Sarah Dazley, says the first of the banners - with the "Stop, Shop, Stratford" message - will be displayed for two weeks to tie in with the SBA's Shop Local promotion which started on Monday. With a major prize of a trip for two to the Gold Coast, it is sure to be a popular promotion, she says.
Sarah says the SBA was keen to see the banners on display in Stratford.
"The town used to have some, but when they came down, they weren't replaced, and this was something we, as a group, wanted to see done again."
The SBA applied for TET funding and Sarah says that it is thanks to a successful application that the banners were possible.
