DUNCAN and Leeann Nelson are excited to bring Nelsons Caf? to Stratford.
After seeing a need for their wholesome food and caf? services in town the couple set the wheels in motion for opening their own caf?/bakery in Stratford.
With the purchase of the White's building, situated on the corner of Regan Street and Broadway the building slowly started taking shape into the caf?, which opened on Monday, November 24.
The caf? is open seven days from 7am-4pm Monday to Saturdayand from 8am-3pm on Sunday.
The caf? has a wide selection of caf?-style food, which includes wraps, paninis, pasta salads, and more made daily on site.
It also has an extensive range of cabinet food, which locals can choose to eat in or takeaway. These include fresh donuts, cakes, slices, a variety of pies and savouries and filled rolls.
There is also a great supply of cold drinks to choose from or why not enjoy a breathtaking cup of coffee or tea.
Duncan and Leeann travelled the country in search of the perfect cup of coffee and are pleased with their findings.
The couple use Allpress Espresso from Auckland - they roast their own beans and ensure every drink is a heavenly experience.
The state-of-the-art coffee machine 'La Marzocco' produces fresh coffee every time, as the beans are imported daily and ground on site to give the most delicious flavour.
The caf? also offers a variety of teas from Tea Total, the most exceptional loose leaf tea available in New Zealand.
The caf? seats approximately 56 people inside and 12 outside and with large tables and comfortable chairs is the perfect location for staff breakfast meetings, client lunches and relaxing afternoon tea breaks.
The caf? also has two generous leather couches and a coffee table for those wanting to dine in extra comfort. Situated by the fire this little nook is the ultimate caf? experience for dining in style.
The caf? also is wheelchair friendly, has baby-changing facilities and highchair available.
As well as takeaway options the staff at Nelsons can also organise great platters for business shouts or work meetings.
Nelsons began in 1945, with Duncan's grandfather Tom Nelson. It was then passed down to his father and uncle, Tom and Alistair, who took over the business in the 1960s.
During the 1980s the business was sold out of the family, but in 2000 Duncan and Leeann bought the business back and have built-up the bakery's reputation and success over the past eight years.
The couple are excited about the next chapter of Nelsons and believe that in time they will create a successful caf? and bakery in Stratford.
All of the bakery goods will still be produced in the bake house in Inglewood and brought down to Stratford fresh daily.
Nelsons also supply wholesale product around the region as well as a catering service.
Chris Suter will be the on-site caf? manager and will lead a team of nine employees.
All of the staff are local and are ready to start serving customers good quality food. With a great new kitchen, delicious fresh food, comfortable and stylish seating call in today to try some mouth-watering food at great prices in a beautiful new caf?.
A super fresh caf? - a delicious bakery
