The greens of the Strathmore Golf Club will be notably smoother this coming season with the arrival of a brand new lawn mower for the club. Brian Needham, club captain, says the club applied for a grant through Pub Charity, a charitable organisation that funds community groups through the money made from gambling machines. Brian says the club did a bit of research on which mower was best and most cost effective, "we sent Pub Charity our research and our preference and they get to make the final decision". The mower, a Jacobsen Greens King IV, travelled all the way to the club from Sydney and while it was raining on the day of arrival the greensmen are eager to put the new machine to use.
