Rowing
The rowers finished their youth Olympic games campaign in two B finals, with the single sculls and women's pair finishing third. Jack O'Leary, 17, Dunedin, came in with a time of 3:32.29, while the women's pair of Renee Olley, 17, Ashburton, and Jackie Gowler, 18, Feilding, finished in 3:53.18.
Sailing
Coral Headey, 15, Tauranga, was unable to move up into the top 10 overall positions, finishing with two 18th placings and one 12th.
Finn Croft, 16, Auckland, had a great day out on the water with a 2nd, 6th and 7th positions, moving forward in competition. Alistair Gifford, 15, Blenheim, also had three races, with a similar result to Croft - not moving up the leader board, but putting himself in a close position to the leaders on points. Gifford finished 5th, 8th and 4th in his Byte CII races.
Equestrian
Emily Fraser, 18, Feilding, had a clear round in the international mixed teams show jumping, moving through the course in under the 78-second time limit, working with the Australasia contingent of Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Iran.
Hockey
The men's team beat Germany 4-1 but the women lost 8-3 to China.
Basketball
The 3x3 basketball team took two from two with a 17-15 win over Tunisia and a 21-16 win over Andorra.
Table tennis
Sophia Dong, 16, opened up play in the mixed team competition with T'Anje Johnson, from St Kitts. The pair lost 3-0 to the Hungarians.
Swimming
Our golden backstroke girls are through to the next round in the 50-metre sprint. Bobbi Gichard, 14, Hawkes Bay, bronze medallist in the 100-metre backstroke, qualified 5th fastest out of the semifinals and Gabrielle Fa'amausili, 14, Auckland, came through to qualify with the fastest time.
