Team New Zealand's chances of completing a double in the Med Cup yachting series' final event in Italy have been hit by a lack of wind.
Emirates Team NZ clinched the overall series title for the second year in a row when they established an unassailable points lead earlier in this week's Region of Sardinia Trophy regatta.
Their sights then turned to signing off the season in style by also winning the five-day event at Calgiari, where they lie in fourth spot, 14.5 points behind leaders Matador of Argentina.
However, a light unstable breeze yesterday was not judged to be enough for racing and meant the penultimate day of racing was called off.
That leaves NZL380 skipper Dean Barker and his crew just three races on the final day to try to overtake the boats in front of them and claim their seventh victory in 10 regattas during their two years on the TP52 circuit.
