Team New Zealand Camper appear to be getting desperate in their bid to be the first boat into the Auckland on leg four of the Volvo Ocean Race.
Camper is 172 nautical miles off leaders Groupama and currently in second to last spot.
However they have chosen to take a difficult and risky path through the Solomon Islands.
The route creates massive separation in the fleet and while potentially opening up a number of opportunities, presents a host of challenges from unmarked coral reefs and massive wind shadows, to strange tidal surges.
