A "low and slow" day has seen New Zealand's Dan Slater tumble from the top of the leaderboard to sixth after the fourth day of yachting' Finn world championship in Denmark this morning (NZtime).
Slater, who was runner-up last year, recorded 12th and 14th in the day's two races.
Britain's Ed Wright took the overall lead with a win and a fourth and leads second-placed countryman Giles Scott by seven points.
There is one more day of qualifying races ahead of the medal race on Sunday.
"There is plenty to sail for with just two races to go before the medal race," Slater said.
"Order of the day tomorrow will be some good starts and clear lanes to sail my race."
Top six after eight races: Edward Wright (Britain) 44 points 1, Giles Scott (Britain) 51 2, Ivan Kljakovic Gaspic (Croatia) 51 3, Zach Railey (US) 52 4, Jonas Christensen 55 5, DAN SLATER (NZ) 58 6.
