The Finn world championships in Estonia were once again thwarted by a lack of wind overnight (NZT) which has proved frustrating for the trio of New Zealand sailors hoping to make their way up the leaderboard.
The last two days' racing has had to be cancelled because of a lack of wind, meaning only four out of a possible eight races have so far been completed. The first two days were also hit by light, tricky winds, which saw a number of the favourites struggle.
Organisers will attempt to stage three races tonight, weather permitting, when Josh Junior (15th), Matt Coutts (18th) and Andrew Murdoch (23rd) will hope they can make an impression before tomorrow night's medal race.
"One more race needs to be sailed before a medal race can be sailed on Saturday,'' International Finn Class Association spokesman Robert Deaves said. "After one more race, the discard also comes into play, which could change the leaderboard somewhat. However, whatever happens on the next two days, the necessary four races have been completed to constitute a valid championship.''
