Yachting: NZ skipper enjoying fast Volvo leg

The Volvo Ocean Race boats are flying towards Wellington.

Race and leg leader ABN AMRO One has a 17 nautical mile lead over arch rival MoviStar.

ABN is flying at around 23 knots.

Kiwi skipper Mike Sanderson said they should see Wellington within 48 hours.

Sanderson said their computer is telling him an ETA of tomorrow night, but it is probably more like Thursday morning.

Mike Sanderson added that the trip across the Tasman has been outstanding, with solid sou'westerlies.
