New Zealand sailor Andrew Murdoch has reclaimed the lead in the Laser fleet at the Weymouth and Portland international regatta in England.
He posted eighth and 12th placings in the latest races overnight (NZT) to overtake Australian Tom Slingsby at the top of the standings.
Slingsby recorded 17th and 19th placings, his worst day of the series, to relinquish top spot to Murdoch who now has a three-point lead.
One point behind the Australian is Pavlos Kontides, of Cyprus, who finished second and third today to close the gap considerably.
New Zealand boardsailor Jon-Paul Tobin had mixed fortunes, opening with a 21st placing before winning the day's second race and will start the medal race in sixth place overall.
