An extended preparation at an unfamiliar venue may be the ace up the sleeve of the New Zealand sailing team ahead of this week's 49er, 49erFX and Nacra17 world championships.
All three world championship regattas are being staged at the same venue in Florida.
Sailing New Zealand high performance manager Jez Fanstone says having not raced there before, the crews have had a longer build up than usual.
Fanstone believes it's a great venue and they're hopeful of some good sailing, which is the most important thing in the campaign towards Rio.
Racing starts early Wednesday morning.
