Jo Aleh and Olivia Powire became the first New Zealanders to pick up a win in the second wave of the World Sailing Championships in Perth when they competed in the 470 class last night.
The pair are sixth overall after their win in the final race of the day, which was a frustrating one for sailors due to light and shifting conditions.
Peter Burling and Blair Tuke raced only two of their three scheduled events in the 49er class due to the conditions, finishing third and 12th, to lie sixth overall.
On the men's Laser course Andrew Murdoch finished second and 10th in his two races. He has finished in the top 10 in all his individual races and sits 10th overall.
The Men's RS:X fleet completed only one race, with JP Tobin the top New Zealander in sixth and Tom Ashley 12th.
