Mike Bullot is the best-placed of a small group of New Zealand sailors competing at the Kiel regatta for Olympic classes which began in Germany yesterday.
Fresh from a fifth placing at the recent European Laser championships, Bullot is sixth overall in the 117-strong field at Kiel after taking a race win and placing fifth and 11th in the other two races.
In women's match racing the New Zealand team with Samantha Osborne at the helm had three wins and one loss on day one in Group B.
In the Finn class, Matt Coutts is 18th in a 55-strong fleet.
The regatta is the penultimate round in a series of seven World Cup events.
