Jo Aleh and Olivia Powrie have continued their dominance of the women's 470 class with gold at the Delta Lloyd Regatta in the Netherlands overnight (NZT).
The Olympic champions won seven of the 11 races throughout the regatta, including victory in the medal race overnight. They had a couple of anxious moments in the final race, particularly off the start line, but moved through the field to take the lead half way up the last beat.
It follows on from their gold at the recent Eurosaf Champions Sailing Cup at Garda and the pair will go into July's world championships in confident fashion. Before that, however, they head to France for the 470 European championships.
"We had a big rest after London and only raced at home for Sail Auckland,'' Aleh said. "We are happy with the way we are going but there are lots of new faces and we will know where we are at when we race at the worlds in July.''
Andy Maloney continued his good form in the Laser with bronze and Paul Snow-Hansen and Daniel Willcox also claimed silver in the men's 470 to round out a good regatta for the Kiwis.
