CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand (AP) Wicketkeeper Chadwick Walton made an unbeaten 61 as the West Indies' three-day tour match against a New Zealand XI ended Friday in a draw.
Walton put on 60 for the first wicket with Kirk Edwards (25) and carried his bat through the 31 overs of the tourists' second innings which ended at 121-2. Shivnarine Chanderpaul was out for 12 after making 89 in the first innings.
Earlier, New Zealand test openers Hamish Rutherford and Peter Fulton made 72 and 53 respectively in a 142-run stand for the New Zealand XI, which declared its second innings at 168-5 and with a lead of 165.
The first of three tests between New Zealand and the West Indies starts at the University Oval, Dunedin on Tuesday.
