ALICE SPRINGS - Hatchets and tomahawks were among more than 150 weapons found at an Alice Springs oval ahead of an Australian Rules grand final, police said.
Police found the weapons around Traeger Park before Sunday's Country Cup final between Yuendumu and Central Anmatjere.
Police searched for the weapons after a tip-off that rival families from Yuendumu had hidden the weapons.
Knives, tomahawks, a baseball bat, screwdrivers and hatchets were among weapons found by police, a spokesman said.
Police deployed extra officers and security staff and reported no incidents during the game, won in extra time by Yuendumu.
