Like any younger sibling, Scarlett is looking forward to following her older sister into the event when she makes her debut in Wellington.
"Scarlett swims three to six times a week and is just looking forward to having fun and enjoying herself," said Sarah Robb, the mum of the up-and- comers.
Her plucky older sister, Sophie Robb, is no stranger to the series or the Jetstar camp.
Sophie won her age group in last season's King of the Bays' event which secured her a spot in the Jetstar Super Swim Squad.
"She wants to do the same again this year," said Mrs Robb, "Scarlett would also like to win a place in the squad -- if not this season, then next season."
Scott Rice, the event director of the State NZ Ocean Swim Series, said it is all about families having fun together.
"It is great to see families like the Robb family really embrace this series and the opportunities presented by the Jetstar Super Swim Squad," he said.
The State Capital Classic is the third of six events in the series, which also offers a 300m 'Give it a Go' distance, 1km 'Step It Up' distance and a 3.3km 'I'm Going Long' distance.
The other three events include the State La Grande (Akaroa), Sand to Surf (Mt Maunganui) and King of the Bays (North Shore, Auckland).
