In scenes described as "primitive", a wild brawl has broken out at a Papua New Guinea rugby league semi final at Sir John Guise Stadium in Port Moresby.
The Digicel Cup match, which saw the Agmark Gurias triumph 19-12 over the Mount Hagen Eagles, was marred when an Eagles official ran onto the field at fulltime and punched a referee.
The official's actions sparked Eagles fans to swarm the field throwing bottles and chairs at the referees and opposition players.
PNG's sports minister Justin Tkatchenko has since called for the offenders to be banned for life.
