A 17-year-old rookie race car driver could be slapped with a $100,000 bill after a spectacular crash in a support race at Bathurst on Saturday.
Dunlop series driver Jack Smith will be forced to pay for the damage sustained by the Paul Morris Motorsport (PMM) Ford when it smashed its way through the dipper in the day's heaviest hit with the repair expected to reach almost $100,000.
Smith was driving in the Dunlop development series, which is a Supercars category to help bring through the next generation of top drivers. He was un-injured from the incident.
Thankfully Smith's father Peter, who owns transport company SCT Logistics, is worth an estimated $166 million according to The Courier Mail in 2014.
