Watch: NFL reporter makes hilarious debut

The new NFL season kicked off over the weekend and ESPN made history on Monday Night Football, when Beth Mowins became the first woman to commentate an NFL game in 30 years.

But during yesterday's broadcast of the Denver Broncos' win over the LA Chargers, people were only talking about sideline reporter Sergio Dipp.

A Mexican journalist who generally works for ESPN's Spanish-language channel, Dipp was tackling his first English-language NFL broadcast.

And early in the first quarter of the Broncos' victory in Denver, the broadcast threw to Dipp for his maiden report. It did not go well.

Dipp's reporting - about Broncos rookie coach Vance Joseph being excited for his first game - saw social media explode.

From now on if someone ask's were I was on 9/11 im going to need them2 specfy if they mean 2001 or when Amerca was introduced to Sergio Dipp

To his credit, Dipp handled all the attention with good humour, later tweeting about his new-found national prominence:
