Mitchell McClenaghan appears unlikely to bowl after being felled by a bouncer in New Zealand's batting revival against Pakistan in their opening one-day international at the Basin Reserve.
The hosts finished on 280 for eight after slumping to 99 for six in the 23rd over.
McClenaghan made 31 off 18 balls before retiring hurt. He suffered the blow to his left eye from the penultimate ball of the innings from Anwar Ali.
He left the field after the ball lodged between his grill and face.
