KEY POINTS:
New Zealand lost a tight match 1-3 to North Korea to miss out on a semifinals berth at the VTV Cup women's volleyball tournament in Vietnam.
The New Zealanders went down 20-25 12-25 25-21 13-25, and coach Shelley Addison said her team lost a three-way points countback with Australia and Thailand by a "miserable" points ratio of 0.019.
"The team hit, blocked, defended, covered hitters and picked up balls that I have not seen done before. It is impossible to single out a performance of the team because they all contributed so stronly," she said.
New Zealand lost 11-25 19-25 19-25 to Kazakhstan on Tuesday and 20-25 19-25 23-25 to Australia on Wednesday before downing Thailand 27-25 25-18 25-22 in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday.
