With just days to go until the Supercar V8s roar into life around the streets of Hamilton, thousands of people are looking longingly at their pre-bought tickets in anticipation.
Those that have missed out on the sold-out Flexi Pass ticket will be ruing the day they didn't get hold of one.
The major new feature of this year's event is the Flexi Pass, dubbed the ultimate general admission ticket.
"We will convert four of our existing grandstands in High St, Frankton, Empire St and Pit Entry to the new Flexi Pass seating, giving the holder a guaranteed seat in one of those grandstands on a non-reserved basis for only $95 for all three days," said event director, Steve Vuleta.
Fans attending this month's third ITM400 V8 Supercar event in Hamilton will not only be treated to significantly lower prices, but will have improved viewing for general admission.
New Zealand's only round of the V8 Supercar Championship is the fourth event in the V8 Supercar Championship Series.
"To support our loyal fans in these challenging economic times we have reduced our pricing for general admission and silver grandstands by approximately 30 per cent," said Vuleta. "Fans can come to the event for as little as $19 for the day."
The changes to the pricing structure have proved popular with fans this year with the Flexi Pass selling out and the event organisers having to increase setting.
"In Stadium we've had to build an extra 1600 seats because that stand was nearly sold out," said Vuleta. "There's less than a 100 seats left in Main and only about 1000 seats left in Hinemoa at turn three and maybe less than 300 left at turn five. There are limited seats available and my message is quite simple. Don't be disappointed if you leave it until the day and there are big queues if you want a walk-up ticket, or the seat you want is sold out.
"To avoid any disappointment, get on to Ticketek and pre-order. At this year's race there's a distinct possibility there'll be a Kiwi on the podium in the likes of Shane van Gisbergen so get along and support all the Kiwis."
Mr Vuleta said the venue capacity would remain at a maximum level of 150,000 over the three days.
"We have worked hard to improve viewing for grandstand and general admission fans," said Vuleta.
The Gold Level grandstands passes will run at $195 for three days, Silver Level grandstands at the reduced price of $125 for three days and the new Flexi Pass Grandstand, which are sold now, but were at $95.
