Shane Young was thrown to the wolves in his UFC debut in 2017.
On just eight days notice, the Kiwi went into battle against Alexander Volkanovski in Sydney. He took the loss that night, but made Volkanovski go the distance.
Now, the Napier-born featherweight (11-4) will step back into the octagon - with more time to prepare - when he takes on Filipino striker Rolando Dy in Singapore on June 23.
Dy holds a 9-6 (1 no contest) record in his professional MMA career, with two losses and a win in the UFC.
The 26-year-old's debut with the company in June last year came to an abrupt end, as the bout was stopped in the second round by a doctor after Dy sustained an eye injury. Dy suffered a TKO loss as a result.
