UFC: Rousey finally accepts Holm was better

Since her shocking second-round defeat at the hands of Holly Holm in November last year, Ronda Rousey has kept herself largely hidden from the public eye.

However on Sunday, fans got a taste of the Rousey of old, as the former UFC women's bantamweight champion hosted the famed comedy show Saturday Night Live.

An enthusiastic Rousey opened the night with a four-minute monologue, which kicked off with some sincere words of praise for her combatant.

"This is the first time I'm talking to my fans since I lost to Holly Holm in November, which, by the way, was a fight Holly deserved to win," Rousey said.

"And I just wanted to take a minute to sincerely congratulate her."

However considering the context of the praise, it was a given that things would take a more humorous turn.

As fans in the audience began a round of applause for the 28-year-old's show of gallantry, they were quickly silenced.

"That's enough!" Rousey said waving her hands in command.

Admitting that Holm was the better fighter at UFC 193 would have been a hard pill for Rousey to swallow, making the SNL skit the perfect place to show her sincerity while still managing to skim over the topic.

Rousey then launched in to her monologue, which played our in four "rounds", commentated on like an MMA bout.

The four-minute opening skit included some rather questionable jokes, along with a Justin Bieber impersonator and an appearance from pop singer Selena Gomez to finish.
