Adesanya said in the cage after the bout that four people turned down the opportunity to welcome him to the UFC.
When asked if he felt any extra pressure about fighting in the biggest MMA promotion in the world he said: "Pressure makes diamonds, you know what it is."
Then, in his own unique way, Adesanya announced himself to the rest of his division.
"Middleweights, I'm the new dog in the yard and I just pissed all over this cage."
The Perth crowd loved his post-fight interview and Adesanya's smooth talking and charisma was on full display.
The Last Stylebender is an exciting prospect in the UFC and Kiwis now have another big name to follow.
"The pressure has been the same since the jump, since 2008 when I started fighting.
"After my first fight, people were like wow, look out for this guy, and it's been growing, following me.
"Pretty sure I had more hype than Conor [McGregor] before he jumped in UFC. Now people know who I am and it's time to work," Adesanya said.
"This isn't my first rodeo. I'm used to this. I've been watching the UFC for a long time. I know how this works. I've prepped, visualized all this and it's happening now. I just need to roll with it. I ran toward this fight. It's been a long time. It's not an eight-week training camp. It's been an eight-year training camp."
Meanwhile, Kiwi welterweight Luke Jumeau moved to 13-4 in his MMA career with a unanimous decision victory over Japan's Daichi Abe (6-1) in the opening fight of the card.
The loss was Abe's first of his career while the result left Jumeau with a 2-1 record in the UFC since he made his debut in the promotion last year.
Jumeau, 29, had to overcome some early adversity as he was knocked down in the opening frame but he rallied as the judges awarded him the bout 29-28, 29-27 and 28-27.
