A new account of porn star Christy Mack's horrific beating and kidnapping at the hands of shamed MMA star War Machine has been released by the man caught in bed with the adult film star.
Former MMA fighter Jon Koppenhaver was this year sentenced to life in prison after he was found guilty of 29 charges, including sexual assault and kidnapping against Mack during a horrific attack in August 2014.
Mack was left with serious injuries, including broken teeth, fractured ribs, a broken nose and a ruptured liver when War Machine attacked her after finding the 26-year-old in bed with internet mogul Corey Thomas while he claims they were still dating, reports News.com.au.
Thomas has now broken his silence on the ordeal and his decision to flee the scene before Mack was attacked by her former partner.
Thomas has told Crime Watch Daily he believed Koppenhaver was going to kill him after being beaten up and strangled when the former fighter found him in bed with Mack.
He says he was beaten up for 10 minutes as the man known as War Machined screamed at Mack to tell him she belonged to the former fighter.
Thomas suffered a broken nose, dislocated shoulder, bruises, and bite marks.
"He came on top of me and got me in a rear naked choke and I thought to myself, "Oh OK, he's going to kill me now,"' Thomas said.
He said he was able to leave after his beating when Koppenhaver turned his attention to Mack.
He says he had no idea the fighter would then attack Mack in such vicious fashion and said he believed the fight was over when he left.
He says he didn't call police because he didn't believe Koppenhaver would attack his partner.
"In the moment, you think to yourself, 'Why am I getting my ass kicked by this guy and she's telling him that she loves him,"' he said.
"I figured to myself, 'I'm in the wrong bed at the wrong time with the wrong girl. You crazy kids can figure this thing out for yourselves". I gathered my stuff and left."
Mack has since revealed that she was "punched and kicked, smothered and bitten, raped and tortured" by her ex-lover after Thomas left Mack's home.
She has now told Crime Watch Daily the attack lasted for two hours and that she was at one point told by War Machine that "This is it, I've got to kill you now".
"I was trying to stand up and he kicked me in my ribs so hard that I started convulsing," Mack said.
She escaped when she says her former partner left the bedroom to go look for a knife that she says he would have used to kill her.
She believes she would be dead if she had not run.
She has never made contact with War Machine since he was sentenced to serve a life sentence without the possibility of parole for 36 years.
Machine has since apologised for his actions and has begged for forgiveness since converting to Christianity while in prison.
"Not a day goes by that I don't seriously regret some of the things I did," Machine said in a statement on the day of his sentencing.
"I was a lost and empty person. I hated the way that I think. I hated my impulses. It caused me to hate myself. I hate myself way more than any of these people do.
"I would look at myself in the mirror and smash my face. That's how much I hated myself. It was the only thing I could do to prevent myself from killing myself.
"I gave my life to God. For the first time in my entire life, it's brought me peace inside. It's helped me to remove my self hate. It's given me the ability to manage my depression and anxiety.
"I hated that this happened. I hate that I had to hurt the woman I loved. I hate that I had to ruin my career. But it's been a blessing in my life. It's made me grow into a real man.
"No matter what happens in this case or the future, I'm just glad that I finally have woken up and seen the truth. And I really believe I'm going to be able to be a good role model for the rest of my life."
