New Zealand athletes were off the pace in the men's world triathlon series final in Edmonton today.
Wanaka's Tony Dodds finished 34th while Ryan Sissons, ranked No 14 going into the race, pulled out on the bike leg, after having a poor swim.
Britain's Olympic champion Alastair Brownlee won the race in 1h48min 44s, 20s ahead of Spain's Mario Mola with fellow Spaniard Javier Gomez third a further 3s back.
Gomez won the overall series crown with 4860 points, from Mola (4601) and Jonny Brownlee, who finished fourth, on 4501.
Sissons dropped to 19th overall while Dodds finished 28th in the rankings.
