New Zealand's two-time Olympic medallist Bevan Docherty was back at his best yesterday to beat a world-class field, including Spain's 2010 ITU world championship series winner Javier Gomez, in the Los Angeles Triathlon.
Docherty, who withdrew from recent ITU series with exhaustion, was also returning to top fitness after recently becoming a father for the first time.
Fellow New Zealander Clark Ellice finished ninth.
