Kiwi triathlete Braden Currie is refusing to write off his Olympic dream just yet.
An 11th placed finish at the Oceania Triathlon Championships in Gisborne has left the two-time Coast to Coast champion with little chance of convincing Triathlon New Zealand to select him for the Rio Games.
He's now essentially in a battle with Tony Dodds, Sam Ward and Sam Osbourne to join Ryan Sissons at the Olympics.
Currie says next weekend's ITU World Cup event in New Plymouth provides another opportunity.
He says if he can have a good race there with Dodds and Osbourne racing it will be a good marker as to who's in form.
