KEY POINTS:
Mark Todd was quietly confident heading into his dressage round at the Puhinui Horse Trials in Manukau this afternoon, which could determine whether the double-Olympian will compete in Beijing in August.
Todd must qualify in at least two international-class three-star events to be able to compete at the Olympic Games.
The 51-year-old announced his Olympic intentions seven weeks ago and has since set about prepping 10-year-old gelding Gandalf for the competition.
Todd said he would be taking a restrained approach to tomorrow's cross country event, before the final show jumping phase on Sunday afternoon.
